Who are you?
Justin and Alissa. It’s nice to meet you.
Why should we care?
We can’t tell you what to do. But we have experience in different parts of the public sector, and we want it to improve, because it’s necessary, and vital, and the sort of meaninful work we hope everyone is fortunate enough to do.
We’ll get into that as we write, but essentially, there are enough constraints on public sector work that we don’t need to be making unforced errors that make our work even more difficult.
Give me an example!
Okay, sure. There is (usually) no reason that an entry-level position should require a graduate degree. Over-credentialing narrows the pool of candidates to a much more homogenous group that ultimately hinders our progress.
There are many other such issues that we will write about, but that’s one example.
If you have any questions or any topics you’d like us to address, we’ll be sure to dive into them.
